한국에서 대학원 법학과 박사과정(형법전공)을 수료한 후 미국에 유학하여 노스캐롤라이나주 웨이크 포레스트 법대에서 석사학위를 다시 취득하고 인디애나주 밸퍼레이소 법대에서 JD를 취득하였습니다.

그후 일리노이주 변호사시험에 합격하여 시카고지역에서 이민변호사로 활동하고 있습니다.

지난 2004년부터 시카고지역 한인사회에 적극적으로 활동하였고 업무분야는 주로 이민법으로 한정하여 전문능력을 키워왔습니다.

 

포괄적이고 심도있는 법해석과 끝까지 책임지는 법률서비스를 모토로 지금까지 열심히 한 우물을 파왔습니다.

항상 연구하고 공부하는 정신으로 단순한 사건보다는 복잡하고 어려운 케이스에 도전의식을 가지고 임하였습니다.

이민법 컬럼을 통해서 다양한 지식을 널리 나누었고 이제는 전문 웹싸이트를 통해서 유용한 정보를 더욱 광범위하게 공유하고자 합니다.

Changhwan Lee is the attorney at the Law Office of Changhwan Lee in Illinois, where he has practiced mainly immigration law, has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyer Association, and a Board Member of the Korean American Bar Association since 2004. 

​

 

Mr. Lee has served as an immigration law columnist for Korea Daily and Korea Times newspapers.

He served as President in the fiscal year 2012 and has been instrumental in coordinating KACS’ monthly pro bono legal clinic, for which he has volunteered since 2004.

Mr. Lee received his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana and completed his L.L.M. at Wake Forest School of Law in North Carolina.

He completed a Doctoral program and received a Master’s degree in criminal law at Korea University Graduate School in Seoul, and earned his BA in Sociology from Korea University.
